THE PLAN
The 14-acre site has planning permission for light industrial use for the marine industry.
The massing is similar to Medina Studios Plan which is recognised by the council.
The development consists of:
Four Permanent Sound Stages
– Stage 1 (10,000 sq ft)

Our vision is to develop a self-sustaining, state-of-the-art media campus; a production hub for international and domestic film production, television, visual effects, and gaming, and to:
- Establish a training strategy to nurture a local production crew talent pool.
- Create a deeper and more joined-up approach to marketing and facilitating use of the Island’s rich locations and maritime opportunities.
- Create the opportunity for film tourism on the Island.
- Optimise Vendor Development to provide sustainable local supply chain.
- Provide significant economic benefit to the Isle of Wight.
- A focus on sustainability in terms of: Construction Methodology, Renewable Energy & Biodiversity
SUSTAINABILITY
The Isle of Wight is a beautiful place. We want to keep it that way. This very much fits with the prevailing ethos withing the film industry. International clients are focused on green business and sustainability within their own operating protocols and supply chain.
They are also very focused on the green credentials of any studio facility that they are using – this focus will only sharpen.
Medina Studios are focused on sustainability in terms of;

- Renewable Energy
- Biodiversity
We are working closely with our architects to explore green building techniques – construction materials and the energy efficiency of the various buildings on site.
Renewable sources such as Photovoltaic Energy will be employed.
LEED, BREEAM and Albert accreditation are all being explored.
